Wheels Nobody Can De-NY – The Unrivaled Ergonomics of Nylacron®.

Welcome back to the Roundup. Here is some in-house testing to help illustrate a story we love to tell and retell. This push cart in our warehouse represents a variety of challenges we have met time and time again here at Acorn®, from heavy duty mobile cranes, to 16’ metal trusses, to aircraft components, to countless others. For this 2000 LB load, steel has the strength for the weight – but must get disqualified early-on, since protection of our facility flooring is a must. Our cart is trying wheels of different materials: Rubber, Polyurethane, and Phenolic, all of which have applications under which they serve well – and then we will show how Nylacron®, The New Steel, performs in the this instance.

• Rubber is definitely more gentle on the flooring – but the level of cushioning that comes with Rubber leaves the load still difficult to maneuver, requiring about 4% of the entire weight to push.

• Polyurethane, also gentle on the flooring and able to reduce the necessary push force down to just under 2% – is prone to delamination, or separation of the tread from its core... and will soon necessitate replacement.

• Phenolic, a firmer material within this testing, does succeed in reducing the necessary push force also down to just under 2%, but will also lead to premature chipping or cracking at this weight.

• With Nylacron®, The New Steel, the 2,000 LB load now requires just 1% push force. That’s just 20 LB of force that one team member can apply more safely and comfortably. This difference in push force percentage that Nylacron® helps achieve still holds true and is even more impactful as loads increase, where a moving a 20,000 LB load can go from requiring 4 team members to requiring just 1. Our partners express easier moves, freed up team members, happier facility flooring, peace of mind, and more. That is just what we mean by helping make the great things you do Safer, Easier, Cleaner, Quieter, More Efficient, or Less Expensive.

Reach out to Acorn today and try these on yourself so you can see and feel the wheels nobody that can de-NY.
